Bike fenders from electoral posters

Boredom has hit me this week. It's been driving me crazy!

Luckily, today I did something. Well, first of all, I got a job yesterday (yay!) which means income (double yay!) so today I was feeling good. Good enough to take my bike fender project and get it done.

You see, I've been needing bike fenders on my Éco-Vélo since the day I got it some 4-5 years ago. But I am in the running for world's greatest procrastinator and I've been riding fender-less all this time.

However, on my arrival in Toronto about 2 months ago, city elections had taken place and I was able to snatch up an old election poster. Mmmm, corrugated plastic...

I don't want to be biking through the city with some sort of political affiliation on my bike, so after having cut some slices of the poster, I took a permament marker and went crazy, like a 5 year old.

I also wanted to be cool and attempted multitasking by trying to make homemade bread at the same time as the fender project...

Obviously, the bread making is optional.

DYI BIKE FENDERS

STEP 1: Cover political advertisement-mumbo-jumbo (unless you support that candidate...)

STEP 2: Cut slits along top side of poster to get a more curved fender

STEP 3: Staple (or fix) fender in a semi-curved shape to fit your wheel

STEP 4: Attach fenders to bike with zip ties and you're ready to go!
